Anyone who knows me, will know I love teenagers. I love being with them and working with them. Their thirst for knowledge, their drive and their sense of justice, coupled with the hours upon hours they volunteer in their local communities, never cease to inspire me.
Then this morning, as I drew back the curtains I looked down at two very cool looking dudes, waiting to walk my neighbour's rather glamorous daughter to 6th Form College. New friends, excited for their new 6th Form adventure. She strode up to them, laughing , as they chatted and set off. It was only then that it became obvious that one of the young men had cerebral palsy. So they set off to college, laughing, bantering and walking just a little bit slower for their new friend. The most natural thing in the world.
They have a lot to teach us........
